DT1458 is a pipelined frame processor board designed for high-speed, 16-bit image processing with the DT1451 High-Resolution Frame Grabber onVMEbus systems. The board is a special-purpose processor that greatlyreduces the time required to accomplish arithmetic-intensive operationson 512 x 512 image frames. The frame processor can also zoom (x2, x4,x8); pan; and scroll an image, pixel-by-pixel. For all calculations, 16-bit/pixel internal accuracy eliminates round-off errors in intermediatecalculations.The DT1458 frame processor receives 8-bit image data from the DT1451frame grabber over one of two external I/O ports. These two ports (onefor input, one for output) are completely independent of the VMEbus andallow entire image frames to be transferred between the frame grabber andframe processor at much higher speeds than are possible with the hostbus.Tutorial software is provided as standard. A subroutine library is alsoavailable as an option.
